What is RSS?

RSS is a computer formatted document used for sharing and distributing Web content, such as news headlines, without requiring readers to visit and load an entire website just to see what's there. RSS feeds contain headlines and hyperlinks to longer articles or Web pages. Modern browsers, such as Internet Explorer 7.0, Firefox 2.0, Opera 9.0 or Safari 2.0 all have the ability to browse and subscribe to rss feeds. Each feed can be accessed by clicking on the "XML" or "RSS" orange button next to the feed title. Feeds can be "subscribed" to or bookmarked by either pressing the subscribe button in Firefox or Opera or bookmarking them in Safari (they are automatically added to Internet Explorer 7.0).
