Bomb Texas
Anti-American Hate in Europe

I was in Europe at the end of March, as the USA was one week into the war in Iraq. I was in Holland. While there, I had the opportunity to listen to "the bad boy of Dutch journalism" give an anti-American speech that shocked me.

As I have said in many articles, it is not so much the actual war in Iraq that I think is crucial, but rather the perception of it by people outside the USA. The communists, including those here in southern Africa, have been working like mad to make people hate America.

I don't know how many of you know this, but we have lots of Muslims in South Africa, and we had a couple of dozen volunteering as human shields to go to Baghdad during the bombing. It was quite funny though, to see how many of them started running back to South Africa as the bombing started. There was one particularly funny incident of shell-shock we saw on TV as one very large Muslim spoke of what happened one night during a US bombing raid. He had obviously never experienced bombs before, so he had a severe shock as the bombs came closer. He described how everything was trembling and how it felt like the buildings were about to collapse like a pack of cards. Then extreme fear set in and he and another human shield ran for their lives into a bunker. The next day when they interviewed him he was still in tremendous shock! It was quite funny actually. There never were news reports of whether any of these human shields died or not -- not that I actually give a damn. But the human shields got quite a bit of publicity over here in South Africa. In fact, a lot of anti-American views got a good airing here during the war.

The African National Congress [ANC] government actually used its funds to sponsor massive anti-war protests, including a protest at the United States Embassy. There were others at the US Consulate. The South African Communist party [SACP] was there also joining in feverishly.

One Zulu I know who has a fledgling political party, told me that the SACP and ANC were roping in every black political party they could find in the anti-American protests. The Zulus refused. The Zulus tried to get a pro-American protest going, but nobody, including the US Embassy, was willing to help these young guys to do it. In fact, the Zulus had suggested that we actually stage a political incident whereby they would actually stand in front of the massive Anti-American protest, and block their advance. Of course it would cause trouble, but they were keen to do it in order to generate publicity for their cause. I endorsed the idea. There was quite a cost involved in bringing up Zulus from Natal to Pretoria to confront the communists. But the idea died because of lack of funds -- sadly. (I wish I could get someone to fund me because I know the local politics well enough to be able to pull off a couple
of things, which would really hurt the local communists and actually might change the politics of the region.) These days my contacts among blacks have grown to such an extent, that I am well-placed to do some major things with even a small amount of sponsorship.

I just hope that in the years to come, the US government is not too blasè about its friends, because I believe in time to come Americans may find they need every friend they can get on this planet. It is my view, based on discussions I had with Jeff Nyquist some years ago, along with my own observations, that the communists are trying to isolate the USA and make the world hate you people as part of their strategy of bringing your country to its knees.

The Russians seem to be trying to increase their influence in Europe and it seems to me they are working very hard to squeeze the USA out of Europe and to break the alliance between Western Europe and the USA, which has held for so long. This war may have helped the Russians in this process.

I was talking to a friend of mine who was a Major in the South African army and who had been in Military Intelligence. He expressed the view that the USA has been losing the psychological war in Iraq from the beginning. The leftist media and the Iraqis have been scoring points all along. I think the biggest win for them was NOT using weapons of mass destruction, and making it appear as if the USA invaded a country which did not threaten anyone. Their entire military strategy supported this line of thinking, and even if the USA finds such weapons after the fact, they can always claim the USA
manufactured the evidence.

During that first week of the war, I was at a conference where Willem Oltmans was one of the speakers. The audience was mostly made up of people from the Netherlands and England. And there were many Australians and Americans there too. They were all of the liberal mindset, and the Americans I met were all Democrats.

Oltmans is an old man. The Dutch government banned his writings for many decades because he had interviewed Sukarno in Indonesia a long time back when the Dutch were against it. Oltmans had also lived and worked in the USA. He stated openly that the decades he had lived in the USA were the best years of his life, and Americans allowed him to write and speak as he wished. Oltmans is now back in Holland. He had taken the Dutch government to court and had won a settlement of 16 million Euros in damages from them! Prior to the war in Iraq, Oltmans went and interviewed Tariq Aziz, which once more raised eyebrows.

I found it hard to decide exactly where on the political spectrum Oltmans was. Apparently, during the time of Apartheid, he had actually stood up for us whites in Africa. It could be that he just likes to go against the trend -- whatever the trend may be. This is what one Dutch conservative told me. However, Oltmans definitely also has some outright communist friends, and he does seem to have somewhat pro-Communist leanings. He said, for example, that the Socialists and Marxists in the Dutch parliament were growing in strength. This is the opposite to what a Dutch conservative later told me.

As it was, I was not that impressed with Amsterdam and how openly one could buy drugs. You could walk into almost any store and buy little glass pipes, which you can use to smoke cocaine and other drugs. You can walk into stores and buy Magic Mushrooms and other hard drugs. The center of Amsterdam was almost like "mini-Africa," with lots of blacks from Africa (I could tell from the way they spoke), loitering around. The Dutch people told me the blacks were responsible for a lot of crime. As I walked around Amsterdam, amazed at the historical buildings and the history on every street, I also noticed that the people seemed to be what I would call "low class whites." They seemed to have no sense of dignity, and no sense of purpose. There they were, surrounded by beautiful buildings, from a Golden Age centuries ago, and it was clear that they had lost that which had once made them great. I felt that what few whites are left in Africa, had not lost all our sense of purpose, as they had. And neither had the Americans. I noticed how the British and Dutch dressed, and I compared it with the Americans at the conference, and I felt the Americans were better dressers, and took some pride in themselves. I liked that.

Of course, Amsterdam is one city - the most crime-ridden in Europe, and the Dutch country towns are much better. But there was something about the attitude of the people there that I did not like. It was, I think, a tolerance for evil. I saw it in the stores selling drugs, and I saw it in the tolerance for terrorism. I had an interesting discussion with a lovely young Dutch woman who told me that in Europe, people weren't interested in war because there was too much to lose. It seemed to me there was a willingness to get "peace at any price," which is something I heartily disagree with.

The Dutch pride themselves on their intellectual independence. Normally, it is something I would admire. But in their case, I kept getting the feeling they tolerated far too many things, which one should normally nip in the bud. One Dutch conservative told me that this is why the Right Wing had risen so quickly there. It was a reaction to this attitude. He told me that Pym Fortyn, the conservative who was murdered last year, had dared to stand up and say what many people were thinking. He had said that immigrants (especially from Africa) were destroying the country. Because he was gay, the traditional communist/leftist techniques for discrediting a conservative did not work. He had many death threats, but continued on. Finally he was murdered by an environmentalist (Green commie). The Conservative told me if Fortyn had not been murdered, he would be the Prime Minister of Holland today. But, he also said, Fortyn changed Dutch politics forever, and all hope is not lost. I pary that my conservative Dutch friend and others like him continue fighting. He is a hard-core conservative who hates the Russians and who protested against removing US Nuclear weapons from Europe in the 1980's. So all is not lost in Holland - yet.

But Oltmans, the journalist, is doing things which bother me a great deal. He absolutely oozed a hatred for President George Bush, the likes of which I have never seen before. Because of my Afrikaans, I can understand a bit of Dutch, and when he broke into Dutch, he spat out venom against President Bush.

I was shocked to see the leftist Dutch, British, Australians and even Americans supporting him. Maybe, nobody wanted to confront him. Not one American stood up to counter him. But then again, neither did I. I just took notes as he spoke.

Oltmans, who admitted having spent the best years of his life in the USA, was now saying the most dreadful things. He said the USA had warned Holland about Russia. He even went so far as to insinuate that Fortyn's murder was because Fortyn was against purchasing some expensive American fighter planes. He created the impression that the USA was doing everything to line its own pockets. He said that there was no proof that Osama Bin Laden had destroyed the World Trade Center.

There was one thing Oltmans said during his rant, which I could not disagree with. He said that there was no way Iraq could present any credible military threat to the USA. I could see his point. The USA is so large, and so powerful, that even if Iraq used weapons of Mass Destruction against it, in some sort of terrorist strike, it would never be enough to actually cripple the USA economically or militarily in any significant way. Whatever Iraq did, the USA would easily recover from it and annihilate Iraq as punishment. So it was the one (and only) argument I could concur with.

Israel is different. Israel is so small it might be annihilated as a state by such incidents -- but not the USA. It is the one area where I feel President Bush went a bit too far. He should not have said that Iraq is a threat to US National Security. He should, in my opinion, have stuck to the line that Iraq is a threat to the region. It has fomented several wars, and was a threat to others in region. Nobody can doubt this, and I felt President Bush should have stuck to this line.

Oltmans said he had recently traveled across the Middle East nd that the USA would be hated for destroying Iraq. Interestingly, he commented that "the USA had walked into a trap" by attacking Iraq. He did not elaborate on this. He did not say who was behind it, nor its purpose. I wondered if it was related to the communists, but he did not say any more about it.

He said there are 280 million Arabs who hate America. Then he started calling President Bush names. He referred to Bush as "a bastard." Then he showed more of his leftist leanings. He said that he had investigated the assassination of John F. Kennedy back in the 1960's. He remarked that Kennedy was as bad as the other US politicians. He was outraged at the US attempts to destroy Fidel Castro. I had to snigger when I heard him describing Fidel Castro as (wait for it...) "Socially responsible." Now that is a joke. The Cubans have close ties to South Africa, and we have seen some of what Cuba can offer, and frankly, Cuba is a backwater -- a nation totally destroyed by one man, Fidel Castro. I can only think that this shows some of Oltmans' pro-Communist leanings when he made this bizarre statement.

Another hint of his politics was that he described Bill Clinton as "not that bad" (as the rest of US politicians). Taking another swing at President Bush, he said "This idiot who is now President of the USA has not even talked to Arafat!" He said Bush was "sick".

Jeff Nyquist and I have discussed the idea that JFK was assassinated by the communists, with Castro figuring prominently in the plot. We spoke about this at length, and I think Jeff has researched this well, and his ideas on it are the closest to the truth that anyone has come. So when Oltmans spoke about the assassination of Kennedy, I listened with interest. He mentioned sitting on a plane with Oswald's mother. She told him that Oswald had a friend, a Russian count in the oil industry. Unfortunately, I did not remember his exact name when I wrote the notes. But Oltmans said that when JFK was assassinated, US newspapers put out the story that "Fidel Castro Killed Kennedy" -- but this was dropped shortly thereafter. Nevertheless, it was interesting hearing some of the things he said, because it shows that communists were involved in many aspects of the murder of Kennedy.

Bubbling over with anti-American hatred, Oltmans said "No country has more Mafia than the USA." He was referring to JFK's attempts to use the Mafia to hit Castro. He said Bush was put in power by "ultra- right wing fools," and that "Bush doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground." He warned that, "If the USA goes outside the UN and International Law -- If Bush and his gang goes after Iraq, Iran and Syria -- then we will have shit." He went so far as to suggest that it could lead to a World War. Note, he often spoke of "Bush and his gang" - likening them to a gang of thieves and criminals.

He pointed out that there are 110 countries in the Non-Aligned Movement (including India), and they will go against the USA. He said Israel and the USA would fight the world and lose

Once more, he praised Clinton, saying that Clinton balanced the budget and he did good, "but then a fool from Texas messed it up!" He said a team of psychiatrists were needed to analyze Bush. Then he turned to the anti-War groups, which as most of us know are really funded clandestinely by the communists (See Colonel Lunev's book: Through the Eyes of the Enemy. He said that the Vietnam war was ended by the American people, and he hoped they would do the same with the war in Iraq. Among his last comments was that the USA is making a fool of itself all over the world. Oltmans said that Holland should join France and Belgium in their anti-American stance. He said he was busy writing a book, which would be out soon. It would be called "Bomb Texas!"

I was stunned at how often Dutch people sat and clapped furiously as he made his outrageous speech, often using quite filthy words. The words I have used above, are as per my notes, as he spoke at the time.

All the speakers at the conference were filmed, and I am sure that Oltmans's speech was filmed too. It will definitely be on sale, via Nexus Magazine in Australia. So if you don't believe me, and you want to hear and see Mr Oltmans's anti-American hate speech, then you can. There were even Americans in the audience who stood up in support of him. I was stunned by the whole episode.

There was no doubt in my mind that this man had a lot of pro-Communist leanings. The scary thing is that he is famous in that part of the world, and a lot of people would listen to this kind of rubbish.

I see that France welcomed the fall of Saddam, saying they are all for democracy. I hope that the communists fail in their attempts at making the world hate the USA. Some of the aftermath of the war leaves me with the hope that the USA did not always come out the loser on the psychological front. Exactly how much damage has been done remains to be seen. More troubling, in my mind is: Where to from here? What will the Russians and their communist cabal across the Earth do, to try to isolate the USA more?

It is clear, as this war started, that the real communists, raised up their heads across the planet, in anti-war demos, media statements, etc. I really wish the USA would take cognizance of who these communists are -- be they in Africa, or Europe or the Middle East -- so that free world will be
aware of who their real friends and real enemies are, because I think the struggle is not over yet.

As for Russia, we heard some news reports here in South Africa, on SABC TV, and in The Citizen newspaper, that the Russians were smuggling secret documents out of Iraq using their diplomats in Baghdad. This might explain why US special forces attacked the Russian diplomats that one day. And then there were reports that Saddam was hiding in the Russian Embassy in Baghdad. The Russians, notably an "Intelligence General," strenuously denied this. He floated the theory that the CIA had a secret deal with Saddam and they had spirited him out of the country. No doubt, before long, the leftist idiots in the USA will believe this nonsense. As for me, based on the reports I heard and read here in SA, I think there is a strong case to be made that Saddam is being saved by the Russians. According to The Citizen newspaper, this is what the CIA firmly believes!

This entire war has been an interesting exercise, and I hope it will open some people's eyes as to what is out there. My advice to Americans is: Get to know who your real friends are, and who your real enemies are.
